Adult Sunday School

Throughout the summer months our Adult Sunday School classes combine. Be watching for more information in August about the upcoming fall classes.

Adult Summer Study
During the seven weeks of June 14-July 26, Allison will offer a study/discussion group about "Rethinking Church" which is a new campaign from the United Methodist Church designed to reach young adults ages 18-35. This group will study related Bible passages and discussion will focus on changes Allison needs to make to reach young adults. The class will meet 9:30-10:30 in Room 18. Adults of all ages are invited to attend.

Wesley Bible Class
The Wesley Bible Class continues to meet throughout the summer months. The class studies the Scriptures using the International Lesson Series each Quarter. Doris Guyton is the instructor. The class meets in the Library on the middle floor.

Bible Study Opportunities

There are several Bible studies for adults that meet throughout the week. Watch for a new schedule with classes beginning in the fall. We can grow in discipleship by basing our studies in scripture and by learning together as a community of believers how to be better disciples. For information on joining any of these studies, or on upcoming and new studies that are being offered, please contact our church office.

PLACE Ministries Workshop
The ministries of every church are varied and numerous, as are the disciples who comprise the Church. PLACE will help you identify how you can best serve Jesus in ways that fuel your passion and nurture your faith. A new class will begin in the fall - watch for more information. Rev. Dr. Paul Herring and Ann Cook are the class leaders.

Exploring Discipleship
Jesus called people to be disciples - not members. Membership implies benefits and privileges; discipleship implies devotion and service. During these 9 weeks participants will explore the meaning and implications of discipleship. This class is the first formal step in joining Allison Church, though anyone is welcome to attend.
