Conference Results for the sale of the building and land.

The disciples of Allison United Methodist Church agreed to the sale of the church building and land around the building to be sold to Dickinson College.  The congregation will remain at the present site until June 30, 2013.  Following that move, Allison will have ample time to move the items for either storage or use at Grace United Methodist Church transtitional site until a permanent site has been determined and approved.  The proceeds from the sale will be held in escrow until the permanent site has approved as well.  More information will placed on this website later this week.

Unified Church Pictorial Directory

We're doing an informal Carlisle UMC pictorial directory due on or about May 19.  Here's how to have a photo included:

  • If you'd like us to use your 2010 Allison directory photo, do nothing - we have them!
  • Send a digital family photo to church@allisonumc.org, or drop one off at the church office on a CD or thumb drive.  Please make the name of the photo your name if you can, or otherwise make sure we know who is in the photo.  Please label your thumb drive or CD so we can return them to you.
  • Drop off a paper family photo to be scanned.  Please label it clearly so we can return it.
  • Come to one of our photo sessions - schedule to be announced in church, in the bulletins, and on the website, both here and on the transition website.  There will be volunteer photographers present between worship services and after the 11AM service most Sundays from March 24 through April 21, and at Chat 'n'Chew on March 20.

Directions

Allison United Methodist Church is located at 99 Mooreland Avenue between West High and West South Streets in Carlisle, Cumberland County, Pennsylvania.  Allison is a community of people from all walks of life: business and health care professionals, educators, children, youth, single parent families, blended families, divorcees, widows, families, and retired military professionals. The gifts and graces of our congregation are diverse, with disciples involved in many ministries within the congregation and outside our doors in the community and in the world. 

Although we are all individuals with unique gifts and graces, we are all part of the body of Christ, and therefore come together weekly to worship and praise God our Creator in one of two worship services. As disciples we are working to build bridges in our Carlisle community by proclaiming Jesus Christ as Lord in everything we do.
